We wanted to call our B&B based on the novel by the same name, and its deep meaning: the meaning behind the garden, not only the one behind the physical image of it but also the spiritual one, a garden where you can cultivate and flourish your soul after a resilient situation.
The magic of The Secret Garden is nothing more than positive thinking and firmly believing in yourself into making your dreams come true.

B&B Secret Garden Firenze: Our Story
We are Filippo and Francesco Lomanno, we were the owners of a restaurant designed and started by our father, who suddenly left us just a few months after the opening. We kept the restaurant for 5 years, rolling up our sleeves and trying to maintain to its maximum splendor, before selling it and dedicate our time to this new project.
With us, there’s also Lucrezia, after living in London and Paris, she goes back to Italy and meets and fall in love with Filippo; after 2 years they go living together and start renting a room in their house to tourists, giving useful advices to live the city at its best. After a few years Lucrezia loses her father too, a sad event that changes her prospective on life and time…
After going through some rough time of life, together we decided to dedicate our time to our and our fathers’ dreams. Ferdinando Lomanno was a famous architect, and he had in fact imagined and envisioned a future as B&B for the house in Via della Colonna.
Rodolfo de Bernart, a famous family therapist, was a man who loved to discover the entire globe and whom Lucrezia had travelled with all around the world. He had foreseen for her a future in the field of tourism, thanks to her conviviality and passion for sharing.
The regenerative power of nature and positive thinking becomes the common thread and gives life to our B&B.
The harmony between man and the plant kingdom marks the myths of all civilization.
Despite the arrival of COVID in 2020 and the pandemic that followed, the constructions and renovations at our B&B continued and a year later we were able to open our doors.
In the meantime tourism, just like every other tertiary sector, suffer the consequences of what had happened on a global level and that’s when we started to think about a multifaceted structure for our B&B.
The Secret Garden’s core business is hospitality, but it is also a playful place that can host artisans and their workshops, private events, cooking lessons and much more. So it becomes home to both passions and souls.
On 2021 “Secret Garden Firenze” has finally borned: a B&B in the heart of the city of Florence with a secret gem, a 200 sq m garden, a green lung in the city, where to take a break and relax or live a special experience.

Every morning you can enjoy our Italian breakfast with some BIO or homemade products, served by us personally, which is able to satisfy different tastes and nutritional needs: a mix of traditional and non-traditional products, seasonal fruit, and on request also a selection of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan food.

Secret Garden Firenze is a refuge from the city… in the heart of the city. All you have to do is close the door to completely immerge yourself from the chaos of the historic centre. We try to do everything with the utmost respect for the environment and pay attention to the ecological policies of our suppliers.
An oasis in the city
The rooms are designed to recreate a botanical design, reminiscent of nature, creating the perfect place to unwind after a long day out.
